Best Eats
About me
Hey, I’m Andrew. I’m originally from Connecticut but have called San Francisco home for pretty much my entire adult life. I’m not a chef by any stretch, but I’ve always loved food, cooking, and finding great places to eat.
When I travel, I’m usually the guy looking for the oldest bar in town, a restaurant that’s been around for 50 years, or just somewhere that serves really good food without making a big deal about it. I love discovering new places, trying new things, and finding those spots that make you wish you lived in that city.
When I’m home, I spend a lot of time in the kitchen cooking for my girlfriend and me. Over the years, I’ve picked up plenty of tips, tricks, and techniques along the way, mostly through trial and error. That’s a pretty big improvement considering I used to be the guy who could somehow mess up microwave food. I was a serious chicken nugget kid, so I’d say I’ve come a long way.
I’ve been fortunate enough to travel and eat some pretty incredible food, and I wanted a place to keep track of it all and share it with anyone who’s interested. That’s really what this site is about.
You’ll find a map of restaurants, bars, and other places I’ve loved along the way, along with some personal reviews, opinions, and the occasional hot take. I’m always up for talking about what makes a great restaurant, why one place is worth visiting over another, or why I think a certain dish deserves a little more attention.
There’s also a section dedicated to cooking at home, with some of my favorite recipes and cocktails. A little bit of everything: healthy meals that feel like cheating, comfort food that probably shouldn’t be eaten every day, and drinks that are always better when someone else is making them (but we’re working on that).
I’ve also included a built-in calorie calculator to help keep track of ingredients and what goes into the meals you’re making.
At the end of the day, I’m just sharing the places I like, the things I cook, and the food I’m excited about. No professional opinions, no fancy credentials, just a genuine appreciation for good food and the experiences that come with it.
Thanks for stopping by. Hope you find something good to eat.
